No recipient account required: texting GHOSTED from the phone that will receive messages is the opt-in. An account is required only if you also want to send.

Texting GHOSTED gives GhostRepel permission to deliver moderated personal messages to that number. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. To send messages yourself, you must separately create and verify a GhostRepel account.

What happens next

  1. GhostRepel records consent for the phone number that sent GHOSTED.
  2. You receive a confirmation identifying GhostRepel and explaining STOP and HELP.
  3. Your number becomes eligible to receive, subject to safety and rate-limit checks.

Opting out

Reply STOP at any time. STOP disables receiving for that phone number and also disables sending if the number belongs to a sender account. To return later, text GHOSTED again from that number.
